Features FileTransferGUI
This app allows you to send or receive files between devices on the same local Wi-Fi network.
You can transfer files between Android devices with this app and computers with the desktop application (which can be found at https://github.com/mporuthoor/Runnable-Applications/tree/develop/2023%20File%20Transfer%20GUI).How To Use (Matches Order of Pictures)1.
On the device that has the files, press the "Send" button.2.
Press the "Select Files" button and select the files you want to send in the file explorer.
Once you have selected the files, press the "Send Files" button.3.
Look at the IP Address and Port Number listed.
These will be entered into the other device.4.
On the second device, which you want to transfer files to, press the "Receive" button.5.
Enter the IP Address and Port Number from step 3 into the second device.
Then press the "Receive Files" button.6.
The devices will connect and start sending the file directly to the device without actually using the internet.
Once all files are 100% complete, you can see the transferred files in the downloads folder on the receiving device.
Note: Some Android file explorers dont actually show all files in the Downloads folder if you use the Downloads shortcut.
To get around this, you may need to manually navigate to the Downloads folder (go to Internal Storage and then Download) in order to see the files.
This app is designed for fast file transfer on secure home networks, so no encryption is used.
If you use this on a public network to send sensitive files, someone else on the network with a packet sniffer can piece your file together.
